HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAM
Strengthening Communities Through Holistic Wellness
The Health and Wellness Program is designed to break the cycle of marginalization by addressing the urgent need for comprehensive physical, mental, and social well-being in underserved communities. Without proper care, individuals and communities suffer from preventable illnesses, stress, and social disintegration. This program offers essential support to foster healing and personal empowerment, ultimately creating stronger, healthier communities.

By providing services such as skills development, counselling, and community wellness days, the Peace Centre helps build resilience, especially among youth who have experienced trauma, violence, or are at risk thereof. This holistic approach includes interfaith workshops, dialogues, and other initiatives to promote wellness in line with the spirit of Ubuntu. The diverse workshops can be tailormade to suit various communities, but some generic workshops are:

• Emotional awareness and self-control to reduce aggressive behaviours
• Developing a positive self-identity and strong self-esteem
• Fostering healthy, respectful individual and community relationships
• Strengthening the sense of belonging and community among youth
• Promote an understanding and respect for cultural diversity as a pathway to peace
